Martha is a great personal trainer, I would definitely recommend her! I’ve never been particularly fit and I never thought I would like exercising but I really enjoy my PT sessions. Over the last 1 1/2 years that I have been training with Martha my strength and fitness have dramatically improved and I have much more energy.
She is really experienced and knowledgeable and tailors my sessions particularly to what I need to focus on and knows how to push me! She is friendly and fun and we always have a good chat in our sessions which makes it all the more enjoyable.
I came to Martha because I wanted to get into weight training, something I’d wanted to get into for a while and didn’t really know where to start. She’s really good at explaining the techniques and postures, and doesn’t make me feel self conscious at all. She’s got a naturally relaxed and easy going attitude (which also isn’t to say that Martha isn’t very focussed – she very much keeps you on track!) I’d definitely recommend.
Martha has been amazing, she has helped me understand that importance of diet and foods I need to eat to get the results I want. I see her once a week and one month in I’m already seeing positive changes. She is amazing. she is also helping my husband with ADHD with understanding the importance of diet and food exercise in coping with his symptoms and I have seen much improvement in his mood and being.
I have been working one on one with Martha at the Vault 164 for 9 months now, and love working with her. I have been looking for the right PT to help with my overall strength and fitness and have found it in Martha! I had never used weights before and have had years of back problems that made me nervous to do weight training. But she builds your confidence and you see results right from the start. I’ve really enjoyed working with Martha over the last few months and feel like we have built a real rapport – I think this comes naturally to her as I can see that she has done the same with other clients, and I know that she has a strong reputation at the gym. When I work with her I know that she will push me beyond my comfort zone during our session but I always feel safe. She is calm and kind and won’t let me wimp out of pushing myself, but does it (somehow!) without judgement – meeting me where I am and allowing me to develop.
She is very inspiring as a person, taking herself off on mini solo adventures – like cycling to Paris or across Belgium she walks (cycles and runs) the talk! This means she is very knowledgeable and is good at keeping things mixed up so it doesn’t get boring – from weightlifting, TRX, cardio, and boxing. I also know that she will be teaching me the right techniques so that I can bring this into my own practice safely. I highly recommend training with Martha.

Martha is a fantastic trainer who really understands how things might need to be altered for a premenopausal woman. Sessions are focussed and varied. I’m really seeing results and most of all am enjoying myself!

I was surprised how much i enjoy weightlifting with Martha. Her relaxed and professional style make me feel at ease . Her expertise is clear and she encourages that little extra effort – an extra push which makes me feel like i am making progress.
This was my first PT session ever and I loved it. Martha was great and she exceeded my expectations in how attentive, encouraging and welcoming she was. Because I’m already a runner and have good fitness, my goals and existing strength is probably quite different to a lot of Martha’s other customers and it became obvious straight away how much she is able to tailor and focus sessions around the individual; I can see how she would be a

I have been training with Martha since August 2024. Martha pushes me harder than any PT I’ve had previously. She sees strength in me that I don’t see in myself and, because of this, is helping me to achieve real results. I feel stronger and healthier since I started seeing Martha, and I feel safe increasing the weights I’m using week on week because I know she is there to support me.
Martha is a great PT! She tailors sessions to where I’m at that day which is important for me as I have a disability. Training with Martha has been wonderful! Being a dancer I’m constantly looking for new ways to push myself physically and train in a way that helps with my performance. Martha integrated animal flow into my program to develop my strength and mobility and it has been transformative for my training. I’d never been to a gym and hated all exercise, so imagine, here i am at 80, starting out with a personal trainer, and even lifting weights – and I’m enjoying it – even looking forward to next week. Oh dear, Martha is on holiday, that means I’ll have to wait. Imagine me saying that!
Martha is a great PT which I’ve only recently started with in 2024. She always makes me feel comfortable in the session and offers firm and encouraging support to keep up my nutrition changed to meet my goals and enforced a level of accountability that I need to hit my targets. Sessions are always varied and measured working towards specific goals in a measurable way with a shared Google sheet to track progress.
I have a tenancy to get carried away chatting as if it’s a social occasion which other PTs have fallen
into the trap of with me but Martha cottons on fast and keeps me on track with good session momentum and pace to ensure we cover everything planned with good attention to detail on form and excellent challenge to push myself harder (often tricking me into more reps but it’s worth it for the results haha). The value of this cannot be understated in a good PT 🙂

Martha was charged with the very serious task of making sure my gluteus maximus stopped sliding down the backs of my legs which is what started to happen as soon as I turned 50 (which was a while ago now.) Martha was extremely motivational but mixed our sessions with a great sense of fun. She knew what I wanted to achieve and she tailored our workouts accordingly. We worked on weight training and plenty of squats which I thoroughly enjoyed and she was always extremely encouraging during our PT sessions, which seemed to fly by. I will be sad to see her leave my gym but I wish her well in her new position. Thankfully my gluteus maximus has also adjusted its position and that’s all down to Martha.
I was fortunate to have Martha as my personal trainer at the Natural Fit gym in Hove, and I had a series of hour long sessions with her over a period of several months. Martha took me through various routines that I could use on my own, and in the following session she would add to this and monitor my progress. The sessions were always enjoyable and Martha was very supportive and encouraging. Her personable manner made it a pleasure to be with her, she is very patient and extremely knowledgable. She always made the sessions interesting and not repetitive, adding a mix of exercises and routines, including weights, with expert instruction. She was always available for advice and took a lively interest in my training.
I have had previous trainers that I have worked with and without a doubt Martha was the best, always popular at the gym, and definitely my first choice.

I’ve been training with Martha for two and a half years. She always makes an effort to change goals and keep my program fresh and we decided to put more focus on my nutrition.
I thought I was eating a fairly healthy diet, but Martha encouraged me to log all my calories using My Fitness Pal and by adding her as a friend in the app, she gets to see what I eat too.
The downside to this is the occasional stern look when from Martha when I scoff a Cadbury Creme Egg or give in to that late night McNugget craving. I’m only human after all…
The upside to tracking is the ability to see exactly where your excess calories come from and make adjustments.
I was shocked to learn that a few less cashews on breakfast porridge can reduce my daily calorie intake by 10%! One of my regular meals was a rack of pork ribs, that I didn’t realise was a whopping 1300 calories. Now I eat 2/3rds of the rack and use the leftovers for a protein rich lunch the next day.
None of the changes I’ve made have involved suffering or deprivation. But by targeting the worst elements of my diet and making small tweaks, I’ve managed to consistently lose 1kg per month.
